Medical device manufacturer, B. Braun Melsungen AG, has issued a medical device safety alert concerning its lntrocan Safety Catheters 24G 0.7X19MM-AP [Material Number: 4251601-03; Batch Number: 19A30G8315].
According to the manufacturer, in course of the post-market surveillance activities, there was a single incident reported in Korea last week. There is a possibility that a batch of lntrocan Safety Catheters 24G could be contaminated.
The manufacturer is currently conducting a thorough investigation on this matter. The root cause analysis and corrective actions for this single incident will be released as soon as they become available.
Product replacement is on-going.
According to the local supplier, the affected products are distributed in Hong Kong.
