Medical device manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, has issued a medical device safety alert concerning its 1-DAY ACUVUE TruEye brand contact lenses [30-Pack Lot Number: 5840330112, which may also be packaged into 90-Pack with Lot Number 5840335107].
The manufacturer has initiated a voluntary recall impacting a limited number of ACUVUE brand contact lenses, which are only distributed in Japan and South Korea.
According to the manufacturer, it received reports of lens being 'off power'. Upon the investigation, it was determined that mixed lot of mislabeled (lens power) lenses have occurred. As a result, vision of the affected consumers may not be accurately corrected (i.e. some degree of distortion or blurriness). Nonetheless, there is no significant health risk requiring medical intervention related to the issue.
According to the local supplier, the recall does not impact those distributed in Hong Kong.
