Medical device manufacturer, Medtronic, has issued a medical device safety alert concerning its Wireless Recharger [Model WR9200 & WR9220 Rechargers; included in Models RS6200, RS5200 & RS7200 Charging Systems].
The manufacturer has identified through a complaint assessment that when the Wireless Recharger (WR) is fully depleted and the WR is placed on the dock and quickly removed within 20 seconds, interrupting the initialization routine, the WR may become unresponsive. In the event of an unresponsive WR, user will not be able to charge their implanted neurostimulator, until a replacement WR device is received.
The manufacturer advises affected users refer to Patient Quick User Guide for proper care and maintenance of the WR. Affected users should follow the action listed on the customer letter issued by the manufacturer.
According to the local supplier, the affected product is distributed in Hong Kong.
