The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), United Kingdom posted a field safety notice concerning NGP 6Fr – Nasogastric Feeding Tube manufactured by Medicina Ltd. (Lot no: 202038, 204025, 204052, 205024).
The manufacturer has discovered that some batches of size 6Fr tubes in the NGP range may be affected by a manufacturing fault. The tubes affected with this fault are too small for the guide-wire to fit inside. In some cases the guide-wire may protrude from the side eyelet or from the end of the tube and there may be a potential risk of internal injury to the patient when passing the tube.
